Thai Nguyen LRC is a member of Thai Nguyen University (TNU). It is funded by the Atlantic Philanthropies (U.S) through RMIT Vietnam holding Pty Ltd (Australia) and is constructed by East-Meets-West Foundation (U.S). The goal of the stakeholders is to help TNU to implement effective strategies for the training and development of high-quality human resources and in the development of research and technology competencies to meet the social-economic development demands in the Northern Mountainous Area (NMA) and the country as a whole, thereby increasing the ability to broaden the relationships between university educational systems in the country and internationally.

The LRC is a four-storey building comprising 7.264 square meters of floor space that forms the central area of Thai Nguyen LRC. This is a convenient place for students and faculty to come to study and to conduct their research. With a well-designed layout and an appropriate arrangement of materials together with modern facilities, the LRC is guaranteed to provide comfort and convenience for all users. We provide users with diversified open collections, relevant databases and electronic resources, which are supported by a network of 400 personal computers, projectors and audio-visual devices such as TVs, VCDs, DVDs, etc. The LRC also includes individual study spaces, conference rooms, and seminar rooms. The LRC houses a large auditorium of 250 seats and is equipped with modern video conferencing facilities of international standard. There are also spaces and rooms for display and exhibition of new materials as well as cultural collections that contain artefacts and ephemera with specific characteristics of the NM area.
The LRC staff always consider user satisfaction as a measure of success and as a principle for our LRC's operation.
LRC's function:
- Provides diversified and frequently updated information resources to meet the demands of teaching, learning, and research by faculty and students of Thai Nguyen University and further expands its services to the community in the area. The information resources provided include print materials, electronic resources and OPAC.
- Provides print resources and modern facilities that help to improve teaching and learning with student-centered methodologies. Faculty and students can use facilities for their self-studies such as rooms for group study and discussion that are equipped with networked computers.
- Provides an information network in collaboration with large international and national libraries that helps to enhance the international integration of information and to strengthen the ability of cooperation in education and training, and to promote the status of Thai Nguyen University internationally.
- Provides means and facilities for organizing conferences, seminars and national and international short-term training programs in order to improve intellectual exchanges and collaboration between Thai Nguyen University and other universities as well as other international organizations.
Location
Thai Nguyen University Learning Resource Center is placed at Tan Thinh Ward, Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen province. Its position is central to Thai Nguyen University and is surrounded by member colleges: College of Agriculture and Forestry, College of Economics and Business Management, College of Medicine, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Information Technology, College of Education, College of Engineering and the School of Economics and Technology.
