Circulation/Renewal
- This service meets the needs
for borrowing and returning materials in LRC.
Simple procedures make users feel comfortable and save time when borrowing and
returning materials.
- This service helps users extend the time of their current loans.
Reserve/Hold
- If there is
an item unavailable on the catalog, users can request the LRC
to hold
the item for them.
Reserve Collection
- The TNU reserve collection is for short term use within the LRC, thereby
ensuring all users have equal access to this
type of material.
Reference collection
The reference
collection is easily accessible and
includes information from reliable
sources such as handbooks,
dictionaries, encyclopedias and
yearbooks. These materials are
available in both print and electronic format
and for the use within LRC.
User Guides
- A number of print and electronic guides are prepared to assist users locate
and use information effectively. We organize training classes to help users
(this is described in the Information Literacy Sections).
If you have any difficulty in using the LRC, you can contact staff at the Circulation and Information
desks situated on floors 1, 2 & 3, by email or by telephone.
- You can also find out how to borrow materials or search for information on the
Internet through the 'User Guides and Support' section in the website and via
the Online Public Access Catalogue system. (OPAC)
Providing subject specialist information
- The LRC can provide tailored information packages to suit your needs.
These
include printed and electronic papers, bibliographic information and full text
articles in specific subject areas.
- Information is evaluated and then chosen from many resources, such as books,
newspapers, magazines, CD-ROMs and LRC databases. If you have a request for this
service, please contact the
staff at the Information Desk.
Clipping Service (print and online)
- Information on each special subject is "clipped" from newspapers and magazines
and compiled as a bibliography to serve the reading demands of staff, teachers
and students at TNU and to serve public in the near future.
- Once selected, the material is then edited and summarized, with the following
information included: title of the source, title of the article, date, the
article that was published, author and keywords, and content. These materials are
then arranged by subject.

Audio-visual Service
Introduction
LRC has a high quality and relevant
audio-visual collection in many formats
including CD - ROMs, VCDs, DVDs, audio cassette tapes, and video tapes.
These materials are catalogued and arranged according to International
Standards. These visual reference materials are useful to
faculty and students of TNU in particular and readers in general.
